The Happiness of Pursuit Festival partnered with hip-hop legend MURS in 2021 to bring his transformative Groundwaves program to the event. Over the past three years, Groundwaves has showcased more than 40 independent artists from across the nation, providing them with a platform to amplify their voices and talents on a prominent stage.

Founded by MURS, Groundwaves is a nonprofit mentorship program that provides independent artists with essential tools and guidance to navigate the music industry. Through his program, MURS shares invaluable insights and experience, nurturing the next generation of creators.

The collaboration between MURS and The Happiness of Pursuit Festival is a full-circle moment. In 2013, MURS, also the founder of the legendary Paid Dues Festival, booked 60 East and his crew First Dirt for Paid Dues after their relentless year-long campaign. Since then, MURS has endorsed The Happiness of Pursuit Festival, describing it as “the new Paid Dues” and encouraging fans to attend if they want to experience its essence alongside Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Festival.

With this partnership, the legacy of independent hip-hop continues to thrive, inspiring a vibrant community of artists and fans alike. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness Groundwaves in action at the next Happiness of Pursuit Festival!
