Ras Kass to Celebrate 30 Years of Soul on Ice at THOP Fest 2026
West Coast hip-hop legend Ras Kass is coming to Fontana, California, for a special performance celebrating the 30th anniversary of his classic debut album, Soul on Ice.
Ras Kass will perform at the ninth annual Happiness of Pursuit Festival, better known as THOP Fest, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Stage Red in Fontana, California.
For fans searching for an upcoming Ras Kass concert in Southern California, the Inland Empire, or the greater Los Angeles area, THOP Fest will offer a rare opportunity to experience music from one of West Coast hip-hop’s most respected lyricists.
Released in 1996, Soul on Ice introduced Ras Kass to a worldwide audience and established him as one of the most thought-provoking lyricists of his generation.
The album became known for its dense wordplay, social commentary, historical references, and willingness to address subjects that many artists avoided. Three decades later, Soul on Ice continues to be discussed by hip-hop fans as an important work from one of the genre’s most competitive eras.
Ras Kass will celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary at THOP Fest 2026, bringing its legacy to the festival’s indoor main stage. The performance will give longtime listeners an opportunity to revisit a defining period in West Coast hip-hop while introducing a new generation of fans to the music and lyricism that built his reputation.
A West Coast Lyricist With a Lasting Legacy
Throughout his career, Ras Kass has earned recognition for his technical ability, complex rhyme patterns, sharp observations, and uncompromising approach to hip-hop.
His catalog extends far beyond Soul on Ice, encompassing decades of solo releases, collaborations, and group projects. He has continued to represent lyric-driven West Coast hip-hop while working with respected artists and producers from across the country.
Ras Kass is also a member of the hip-hop supergroup The HRSMN, alongside Kurupt, Killah Priest, and Canibus. His influence can be heard in generations of independent artists who place substance, originality, and lyrical skill at the center of their music.
His appearance at THOP Fest is especially meaningful because the festival was created to connect influential artists from hip-hop’s past and present with the next generation of independent talent.
