The album showcases SingleMaltPlease’s signature blend of Hip Hop and Jazz Fusion through seven original compositions, and features in-demand New Orleans rapper Da Prophecy. With compositions by four different band members, the band’s enormous stylistic range is on full display. Look out for danceable grooves, hard-hitting rap verses, and fiery improvisations!

For the past 5 years, SingleMaltPlease have been on a musical journey, reimagining classic hip hop beats with the sophisticated flair of seasoned jazz musicians. After years of performing throughout New Orleans, the band has cultivated a sound all their own, enchanting crowds with their clever mashups and mind-bending originals. With A Touch Of Water, they deliver the most intimate version of themselves as humans, sharing without filter the never-ending quest of self-discovery through music.

The album features Maude Caillat on tenor sax, Benjamin Matlack on trumpet, Da Prophecy on vocals, Luke Palmer on keys, Adam Samolsky on bass, and Zehrin Sims on drums. Also featured on background vocals are friends of the band Antonia Villafranca, Hannah Davis, Ethan May, and Sam Yams in More Dancing and Tabaski Will Come.

Produced by SingleMaltPlease, A Touch Of Water was recorded at Marigny Studios in New Orleans, mixed and mastered by Justin Armstrong, a multiple Grammy-winning sound magician. Original album artwork by Luna Fox.
